Additional benefit will be paid to the households that are levied on only the “per capita portion of inhabitant tax.

 

After Tuesday, March 5, either A or B below will be sent. 

(Only the households that have lived in Kokubunji City since on or before January 1, 2023.)

Households that can receive the benefit

Households that have resident registration in Kokubunji City as of December 1, 2023, and meet the condition 1. or 2. below:

1. All members of the household are levied on only the “per capita portion” of inhabitant tax. (They are all exempt from the “income-based portion” of inhabitant tax.)

2. The households consisting of people who are levied on only the “per capita portion” of inhabitant tax, and people who are exempt from all inhabitant tax. (They are all exempt from the “income-based portion” of inhabitant tax.)

＊ The “per capita portion” of inhabitant tax in Kokubunji City is 5,000 yen.

＊ The amounts of “per capita portion” and “income-based portion” are shown in the “Notice of Tax Determination/Payment” sent around June,　2023.

＊ Even though the households meet the condition 1. or 2. above, some may not be eligible for the benefit.　For more details, please contact the Call Center.

How to receive the benefit
The households that have lived in Kokubunji City since on or before January 1, 2023:

A. If you receive the postcard:
Application is not necessary to receive the benefit.
Please confirm it shows the following:
・　Benefit you will receive (70,000 yen).
・　Your bank account that the benefit will be sent to.
・　The date the benefit will be sent.

B. If you receive the envelope:

1. Refer to the confirmation letter in the envelope.

• Please confirm the conditions 1. and 2. (as pointed by the first green arrow):

1. No one in our household is dependent on a person who is levied on the “income-based portion” of inhabitant tax.
2. No one in our household has the income that the “income-based portion” of inhabitant tax should be levied on but has not filed a tax return.

• Once you confirm, write the name of your household head and the date of confirmation in the box. (as pointed by the second green arrow)
• If the Box A shows no bank account information, go to the box B and write your bank account details for money transfer.
  Please make a copy of your residence card or your health insurance card and a copy of your cash card or your bankbook, and attach them to the back of the confirmation letter.

2. Enclose the confirmation letter (Item 1 above) in the return envelope below and send it by postal mail. (The return envelope is enclosed in the original envelope you will receive. Postage stamp is not necessary.)

3.　The benefit will be sent to your bank account in 4 weeks.

Note: Please send back the confirmation letter by Friday, August 30, 2024.　If you do not send back the confirmation letter, you will not get the benefit.　Only the household that sends back the confirmation letter will receive the benefit.

＊ The households that moved into Kokubunji City on or after January 2, 2023, will not receive the letter.　Application is required to receive the benefit. You can download the application form from the city website.
